Designer Spotlight: Wendy Valliere of Seldom Scene Interiors

Kitchen in Stowe, Vermont

Colony Rug has had the pleasure of working with Wendy Valliere of Seldom Scene Interiors for over 14 years. In fact, Seldom Scene was the first design firm to request Colony Rug’s expert installation services on Long Island and in Manhattan. Take a look at our most recent collaborations with Valliere.

Valliere undertook the daunting task of renovating her own home in Vermont. The residence is full of Valliere’s unique choices in wallpaper, textile pattern, and color. In this kitchen, the fire-engine red pops beautifully against the classic blue and white tiles, creating a contrast in color as well as centuries of design.

In Palm Beach, Valliere achieves dramatic impact through the use of zebra print carpeting in the dining room.  The foliage of the wallpaper and curtains work well to create an outdoor atmosphere while complementing the classic beauty of the chandelier and buffet.
