Sharon McCormick’s Showhouse Room

Posted in Designers Gallery

The charming sitting room that Sharon McCormick designed for the Junior League of Hartford’s Showhouse  is earning high praise. The showhouse did not have a family room so Sharon created a casual yet elegant sitting room away from the home’s public spaces. The room is the perfect place to sit and read a book, work from home or enjoy a game of backgammon.

The amazing ceiling is actually a reproduction Anaglypta wall covering papered embellished with a decorative finishes. The room reflects the work of many fine craftsman that Sharon works with on a regular basis. You can read more about all the people that contributed to the room on Sharon’s blog.

We love the idea of a game table! This beautiful set will surely encourage you to drop the cell phone and enjoy a game with a friend.

The room reflects Sharon’s love of blue and white porcelain throughout. The patterned faux sisal rug fabricated with navy leather binding  shown is from Colony Rug.

Charming details make the room feel approachable and cozy – we want to sit in the English style arm chairs and have some tea! This photo (below)  really shows off the  Dash & Albert rug from Colony Rug that Sharon selected for the room.
